Bright skies opened in 1994. Since then, we have provided high quality child care, in a child focussed environment. 

The Early Years Foundation Stage 

At Bright Skies, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework. This is a set of standards that all schools and nurseries must meet, caring for children aged birth to five. We follow the four guiding principles of the EYFS that shape our practice, and these are:

That every child is a Unique Child

That we promote Positive Relationships ,by implementing the key person system and fostering excellent partnership between nursery and parents. 

That we create Enabling Environments, that support the interests and abilities of all children

which in turn leads to; 

 Learning and development, through activities that are stimulating and challenging. 

The Key Person System​

The EYFS states that all children must be assigned a key person. At bright skies, children are assigned a key person that works in the base room that they currently attend. The key person is responsible for planning and implementing avtivities that are tailored to the needs of each individual child. At Bright Skies, each key person takes pride in building up an excellent knowledge of each child, and in building up a good raport with parents and families, too. When transitioning to the next room, your childs key person will support this by arranging transition visits, and sharing any relevant information with the next key person. You will also be invited to visit the next room again and to meet the new key person, and ask any questions that you may have. 

Ofsted
Our nursery is registered with ofsted, and was last inspected in January 2024, with a "Good" rating.
